What comes to mind when you think of Milford Sound? For me, I think of colossal peaks and magnificent waterfalls. Cruising through this magical place is so unbelievable and worth all the effort to get to this remote region. Can you believe that there are actually only two(!) permanent waterfalls in the area?! Yet during a rainy day, you can see hundreds! It is the wettest place in New Zealand, and one of the wettest places in the world. To say that the waterfalls here are impressive, would be an understatement. In fact, At 151 m, Stirling Falls (first photo below) is three times the height of Niagara Falls.
