Beautiful. Surreal. Awe-inspiring. Those are just some of the words I’d use to describe New Zealand’s South Island. You’ll find some of country’s best landscapes and sceneries here, from Aoraki/Mt Cook, the country’s highest mountain, to Wanaka’s world famous Roys Peak, to the majestic waterfalls of Milford Sound. Mother Nature certainly overflowed this island with some of her best work. The photos below will inspire you to pack your bags and head to New Zealand’s South Island. If you have a limited time, I’ve created an ultimate one-week road trip guide to help you plan your trip.

Be sure to check out the rest of my New Zealand posts for more guides and photo diaries of stunning country. I’d also recommend checking out New Zealand’s official travel website, where you’ll find heaps (see what I did there, Kiwis?) of useful recommendations and guides.
